GST Consultant in Naigaon: A Complete Guide to Registration and Returns
When your Naigaon business must register for GST, what it costs for owned, rented and family-owned premises, the documents officers reject, and filing dates.
In this article
A GST number sounds like one form. In practice it is a KYC pack, a property document that has to match your electricity bill exactly, an Aadhaar OTP on the right mobile number, and a bank proof you have to upload after approval or lose the registration. This guide covers what a business around Naigaon needs, what we charge, and where local applications usually get stuck.
For the law, the thresholds and the full document list, see our GST registration page. This one answers the questions we actually get asked over the phone.
Do you need to register?
Registration becomes compulsory when any one of these is true:
- Aggregate turnover crosses ₹40 lakhs for goods or ₹20 lakhs for services, on the same PAN, counted across India.
- You make inter-state supplies, so a Naigaon trader selling to Gujarat or Surat is covered from the first invoice.
- You sell through Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Swiggy or any other e-commerce platform, whatever your turnover.
- You import, export, or have to deduct or collect TDS or TCS under GST.
Once you are liable, you have 30 days to register. Below the threshold you can still register voluntarily, and many local businesses do because their buyers will not place an order without a GSTIN.
What it costs
Our registration fee depends on how you hold the premises, because the supporting documents are different in each case.
| Case | Our fee | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Premises owned by the applicant | ₹999 | 5 to 14 days |
| Premises owned by a family member, rent-free | ₹1,299 | 5 to 14 days |
| Rented premises | ₹1,499 | 5 to 14 days |
| Monthly return filing, service business | ₹15,000 / year | all GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B |
| Monthly return filing, goods business | ₹20,000 / year | all GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B |
Officers verifying an application often ask for an allied registration as well, usually to establish that the business exists. We quote these separately and only where your case needs one: Udyam (MSME) at ₹999, Shop and Establishment at ₹1,000, PTEC at ₹1,000 and PTRC at ₹1,500. FSSAI applies to food businesses. We confirm the combination before raising any extra fee, so nothing appears on the bill as a surprise.
Where local applications get stuck
Almost every query we see on a Vasai-Virar application comes from the principal place of business. The electricity bill is mandatory in every case, and the rest depends on ownership.
- Self-owned: latest electricity bill. The officer may additionally ask for the municipal tax receipt, khata copy or sale agreement.
- Rented: owner PAN and KYC, a no-objection letter from the owner, and a registered rent agreement. Notarised agreements are not accepted.
- Family-owned or rent-free: owner PAN and a consent letter in affidavit format. A plain letter on paper is not enough.
- Shared premises: owner KYC, an NOC from both the owner and the tenant, and the principal rent agreement.
The flat or shop number printed on the electricity bill has to match the address on the agreement. In a lot of Naigaon East and Nalasopara buildings the bill carries an old flat number, or a wing letter the agreement leaves out, and that single mismatch is enough to draw a query. Send us a photo of the bill before you pay for anything and we will tell you in a few minutes whether it will clear.
The rest of the pack is the same for everyone: PAN, Aadhaar with the Aadhaar-linked mobile in hand, email ID and a clear passport-size photo for each proprietor, partner or director, plus the authorised-signatory letter. Your constitution document changes with the structure, so a proprietorship needs Udyam or Shop and Establishment, a partnership its deed, an LLP the COI and agreement, and a company the COI with MOA and AOA.
Not sure your documents will clear?
Send your electricity bill and rent agreement on WhatsApp. We will check the address match and the ownership proof before you spend anything.
How long it takes, step by step
- Documents and a check on the address match and ownership proof.
- Application filed, with Aadhaar OTPs going to your registered mobile and email. Keep the phone with you that day.
- ARN generated, which you can track yourself at gst.gov.in.
- Officer approval. If a query comes, we answer it inside the time allowed. This is the step that decides whether you land at 5 days or 14.
- Credentials created from the email the portal sends.
- Bank proof uploaded. This has to be done within the stipulated time after approval. Miss it and the registration can be revoked, which is an avoidable way to lose a number you just paid for.
After the number comes the calendar
Registration is the easy half. Filing is what runs for as long as the business does.
Most businesses around here fall under QRMP, available up to ₹5 crore turnover, which means quarterly returns with a monthly payment. Maharashtra is a Category X state, so the dates that matter to you are GSTR-1 by the 13th after the quarter, GSTR-3B by the 22nd, and the PMT-06 challan by the 25th each month. Above ₹5 crore it is monthly: GSTR-1 by the 11th and GSTR-3B by the 20th. GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C, where they apply, are due on 31 December after the financial year ends.
If your turnover stays under ₹1.5 crore, the Composition Scheme is worth a conversation. You pay a flat lower rate on turnover and file quarterly, which suits a shop or a small trader. The cost is real though: you cannot collect GST from customers, cannot claim input tax credit, and cannot sell inter-state. You opt in with Form CMP-02 before the financial year starts, so it is a decision with a deadline, not one to make in a hurry in August.
Our compliance calendar lists every GST, income tax, TDS and ROC date for this month, with the days left on each.
What we handle for local businesses
Registration, amendments to a GSTIN, the monthly and quarterly returns, annual returns, LUT for exporters, and the things nobody plans for: notices, cancelled registrations, mismatched input credit and refunds stuck for a year. You get the acknowledgement for every return we file and a reminder before every due date, not after the late fee.
We work with shops, agencies, clinics, traders and small factories across Naigaon East, Vasai-Virar, Nalasopara, Virar, Mira-Bhayandar and Palghar, and with clients in Mumbai and Thane who prefer to work online.
