Income Tax Return Filing in Naigaon: Forms, Prices and the 21 November Deadline
Which ITR deadline still applies to you, what each form costs, documents to keep ready, and what to do if you missed 31 July. For businesses near Naigaon East.
In this article
Most people around Naigaon think the income tax season ended in July. For salaried filers it did. But if your accounts are audited, your return is still open and due on 21 November 2026. And if you missed July altogether, you have until 31 December before the cheap route closes.
This guide sets out which date still applies to you, what each form costs and what to send us. For the ten-step procedure and the full document list, see our income tax return filing page.
Which deadline still applies to you
FY 2025-26 (April 2025 to March 2026) is assessment year 2026-27. Three dates are still live.
| Your situation | Due date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts audited under Section 44AB | 21 November 2026 | Open, extended from 31 Oct |
| Transfer pricing cases (Form 3CEB) | 30 November 2026 | Open |
| Everyone else, belated return | 31 December 2026 | Open, with late fee |
| Everyone else, original return | 31 July 2026 | Closed |
| Tax audit report (Form 3CA-3CD / 3CB-3CD) | 21 October 2026 | Extended from 30 Sep |
The CBDT moved both audit dates by a press release dated 28 September 2026: the audit report from 30 September to 21 October, and the audit-case return from 31 October to 21 November. If your audit report is not filed by 21 October, that is a separate problem to solve before the return, and the penalty under Section 271B runs at 0.5% of turnover up to ₹1.5 lakh. Our post on the tax audit due date covers the thresholds and that penalty in detail.
Which form you need, and what it costs
The form is decided by your income, not by your preference, and the form is what sets the price. These are our fees, each covering the computation, the e-filing and verification assistance.
| Form | Who it is for | Our fee |
|---|---|---|
| ITR-1 (Sahaj) | Resident individuals, income up to ₹50 lakh from salary, one house property and other sources | ₹999 onwards |
| ITR-4 (Sugam) | Presumptive cases under Sections 44AD, 44ADA or 44AE | ₹1,499 onwards |
| ITR-2 | Capital gains, more than one property, foreign income or NRI status, no business income | ₹2,499 onwards |
| ITR-3 | Income from business or profession | ₹2,499 onwards |
| ITR-5 | Partnership firms, LLPs, AOPs and BOIs | ₹3,999 onwards |
| ITR-6 | Companies, other than those claiming exemption under Section 11 | ₹5,999 onwards |
| ITR-7 | Trusts, political parties and entities filing under Sections 139(4A) to 139(4F) | ₹9,999 onwards |
We pick the form in the first conversation, before collecting anything, so the documents we ask for match what the return actually needs. Getting this wrong is expensive in time: a return filed on the wrong form comes back as a defective return notice under Section 139(9), with 15 days to fix it.
What we see go wrong locally
The return itself is rarely the hard part. What catches people here is the Annual Information Statement, because the department now sees more of your money than your books do.
UPI receipts read as turnover. A lot of shops and traders around Naigaon East and Nalasopara run almost entirely on UPI. The AIS picks up those credits but does not know which ones were business sales, which were a cousin repaying a loan and which were you moving money between your own accounts. We reconcile the AIS against your bank statements first, because an unexplained gap between AIS and your declared turnover is exactly what draws a notice two years later.
A flat sold in Vasai-Virar. Sell a property for ₹50 lakh or more and the buyer deducts 1% TDS under Section 194-IA and files the challan-cum-statement for it. That transaction sits in your AIS whether or not you remember it at filing time, and the capital gain moves you from ITR-1 to ITR-2. The same applies to a single mutual fund redemption.
Rent from a second flat. Rental income from a flat in Virar or Nalasopara belongs in the return, and where the tenant has deducted TDS on the rent it already shows in your AIS with your PAN against it. Leaving it out is a mismatch, not an omission nobody notices.
Salary in Mumbai, business in Naigaon. If you draw a salary in town and also run something on the side, a tuition class, a small agency, commission work, you are not an ITR-1 filer. That is ITR-3, or ITR-4 if you are presumptive. Form 16 on its own does not cover you.
Not sure which form or which deadline is yours?
Send us your PAN and last year's acknowledgement on WhatsApp. We will tell you the form, the date that applies to you and the fee, usually the same day.
Documents to keep ready
For an individual return:
- PAN, Aadhaar, bank account details and your income tax portal login.
- Form 16 from each employer for the year, and the Form 26AS, AIS and TIS downloads.
- Bank statements for every account you held during the year, not just the main one.
- Capital gains workings: broker statements, and the sale and purchase deeds for any property.
- Proofs for Sections 80C, 80D and 80CCD, and the home loan interest certificate.
- Foreign income and asset details if you are a resident with holdings abroad.
Business and professional returns also need the books of accounts, the year's GST returns, and the tax audit report where it applies. Firms, LLPs and companies need the financial statements finalised before the return can be filed, which is why audit-case clients should not be starting this in the third week of November.
If you missed 31 July
You have two routes, and they are not equally good.
Until 31 December 2026, file a belated return under Section 139(4). The late fee under Section 234F is up to ₹5,000, or ₹1,000 if your total income is up to ₹5 lakh, plus interest under Sections 234A, 234B and 234C on tax still unpaid. A belated return can still claim a refund, which matters if TDS was deducted and you never claimed it back. This is also the window for a revised return under Section 139(5) if something in a filed return was wrong.
After 31 December, you are on ITR-U, the Updated Return, available for 24 months from the end of the assessment year. The additional tax is 25% if you file within the first 12 months and 50% in the second. The important limitation: ITR-U can only increase your tax liability. It cannot claim a refund, cannot report a loss and cannot reduce declared income. If you were owed money, missing 31 December means you stop being able to ask for it through the normal route.
Visa applications and home loans are the usual reason people come to us for old years, and consulates and banks typically want two or three years. Where some years are missing we sequence a belated return with ITR-U filings for the earlier years so the paperwork is assembled once. That is the file last 3 years ITR service.
Our compliance calendar lists every GST, income tax, TDS and ROC date for this month, with the days left on each.
How we work
- A short call or WhatsApp message to establish the form and the deadline that applies to you.
- A quote, with the fee stated before we start.
- Documents over WhatsApp, plus the AIS and 26AS which we download ourselves.
- Computation sent to you for approval, showing the tax or refund, before anything is filed.
- Filing and verification, with the ITR-V acknowledgement sent back to you.
- Refund tracking where there is one, and a reminder next year before the date, not after.
You get the acknowledgement for every return we file. If a consultant cannot produce yours, that is worth asking about.

The short version
- Audit cases: your FY 2025-26 return is due 21 November 2026, extended from 31 October.
- Missed 31 July: file a belated return by 31 December 2026 with a Section 234F late fee. It can still claim a refund. ITR-U afterwards cannot.
- Our fee follows the form, from ₹999 for ITR-1 to ₹9,999 for ITR-7.
- Reconcile your AIS before filing. UPI credits, a property sale and rent on a second flat are where local mismatches start.
- Verify within 30 days or the return counts as never filed.
